Feathers and rhinestones and ruffles, oh my! Elie Saab Autumn/Winter 2022 brought the drama to Paris Fashion Week. In a collection bursting with over-the-top silhouettes and striking ensembles, Elie Saab encourages women to wear their confidence and “fearless grace” for all to see. Equally rebellious and refined, the collection juxtaposes heavy, Rock and Roll-inspired embroidery with delicate feathered co-ords. And, what is an Elie Saab collection without sumptuous outerwear and gargantuan evening dresses with up-to-the-ear ruffles? They came in sweeping cobalt, fuchsia and emerald iterations and had the FROW swooning.

Adding an element of attitude, heavy boots replaced sky-high stilettos and – in a sartorial twist nobody was expecting from the adored couturier – a billowing lime-green sweatsuit interrupted the eveningwear (though it was made of taffeta because, well, Elie Saab).
