Headscarves have dominated the SS19 runways
Headscarves have emerged as one of the biggest trends in recent seasons, and if the spring/summer 2019 shows are anything to go by, the hair accessory isn’t going anywhere fast. From Tom Ford to Chromat, designers at New York Fashion Week were quick to showcase their efforts to be more inclusive, particularly to the growing modest market. Here’s five ways to wear a headscarf according to the SS19 runways.
At Kate Spade, Living Proof stylist Shreeda Tailor added a little volume to the hair by gently fluffing strands with its new Perfect Hair Body Builder and Control Spray. She then accessorised their blowouts with colourful head wraps.
For his SS19 show, Michael Kors offered several takes on the headscarf including smartly wrapped turbans and breezy bandanas, which were inspired by ’60s and ’70s icons that had a penchant for making a striking head wrap their pièce de résistance.
To complement the glamorous gowns on the runway at Tom Ford, hairstylist Orlando Pita opted for sharp side-parts and low buns, which were teamed with soft, neatly tied silk scarves.
