PFW SS18: The Dior Verdict

The Accessory | It’s not uncommon to be hat-hesitant, but the beret revival is now in full swing and it’s best to get on board. Easy-to-wear and practical, this accessory will add a much-needed dose of French elegance to your overall look with exceptional style and ease.
The Beauty | While the fashion on Dior’s spring/summer runway was arguably a mash-up of different eras and influences, the beauty that dominated the silver-lined runway was inarguably Sixties-inspired. Twiggy’s spider-eyelashes were worn against pale complexions and a nude lip.
The Shoe | With autumn well and truly here, most of us have already thought about purchasing the perfect boot. Dior’s latest catwalk may have brought us lightweight spring/summer looks but, nonetheless, thigh-high footwear is proving undoubtedly the way forward for months ahead.
The Fabric | Denim is a stand-alone look, and Dior has provided us with multiple perfect pairs. The brand takes this casual fabric and elevates it for an incredibly glamorous wardrobe go-to, from patch-worked culottes and tassel-drenched midi-skirts to buttoned-down jackets.
The Motif | Everyone loves a slogan tee, especially at the moment thanks to the likes of Gucci. Maria Grazia Chiuri has got on board, swapping last season’s ‘We Should All Be Feminists’ print shirt for a less political, more fun, emerald-green chameleon.
The Print | Tactile textures and clever contrasts saw pressed silk patterns layered against leather trousers and bold PVC. Colour co-ordinated, monochrome shades keep looks grounded and sophisticated, while feather-like fabrics are worn with soft athleisure vibes.
The Hair | Tresses were worn loose and down, mid-length, with a touch of tousle. Every now and then a pop of colour could be seen sneaking a peek from underneath the odd beret or wide-brimmed hat, in what was a fun and feminine nod towards modernism and innovation.
The Suit | Tailored with unique and traditional expertise, Dior is well known for it’s ultra feminine jackets and stylishly accentuated silhouettes. Spring/summer proves to be no different, with a collection brimming with navy-blue, timeless suits that are appropriate for any occasion
