Paris Fashion Week is the closing week of Fashion Month and boy, does it deliver. From Chloé's Gabriela Hearst breaking into a dance number during the finale to Rick Owens' colourful plumes of smoke, these are the must-see moments from day four of Paris Fashion Week.
Rabanne Is Our Roman Empire
Quiet luxury? Rabanne doesn't know her. The House stormed the Palais de Tokyo with a collection that pays homage to female warriors through Rabanne staples, dressing models in chainmail and drapery. Transcending time, the warrior inspiration is not limited to female fighters of one era, but includes Gladiators and women from distant universes.
Sustainability and Samba at Chloé
Gabriela Hearst presented her fourth and final chapter at Chloé with a message of environmental accountability and a celebratory farewell performance. The SS24 collection takes inspiration from Mother Nature - unravelling dresses resemble roots, petal-shaped scaffolding lines dresses and embossed patterns are an homage to geometric blooms - and is centred around the theme of consciousness. Chloé has been B Corp certified since 2021, which recognises the House's commitment to eco-friendly craftsmanship and community outreach.
The show ended with a performance by pioneering Brazilian samba school Mangueira to Paris - the first dance academy in Brazil to admit female students. Rather than take a final bow, Gabriela danced on the runway alongside the performers, models and fashion show attendees that were brave enough to join in.
Rick Owens Signals Brighter Days Ahead
Rick Owens, King of darkness, debuted the dark-and-stormy LIDO SS24 collection at the Palais de Tokyo, but it was not all sartorial doom and gloom. To the surprise and delight of Paris Fashion Week attendees, the designer unveiled the collection amidst a backdrop of pink and yellow fog while coloured petals floated from the sky above. The LIDO collection is inspired by Icelandic musician Björk and is as dystopian as ever. Think: sculptural shoes, brides veiled in black silk and leather jumpsuits with over-inflated shoulders.
Kendall Jenner and Imaan Hammam Walk In Schiaparelli
Kendall Jenner, Irina Shayk, Amber Valletta, Shalom Harlow and Imaan Hammam walked in the Schiaparelli show at Paris Fashion Week. Shalom opened the show and Kendall Jenner showcased the final look, while her proud sister Kylie Jenner looked on. In true Schiaparelli fashion, nothing was as it seemed when it came to the SS24 collection. Case in point? Jenner's red minidress was adorned in almond-shaped false nails, lacquered in fire-engine red.
Eagle-eyed fans of creative director Daniel Roseberry would have also noticed the resurgence of a House emblem from 1937: the lobster.
Isabel Marant Revives Disco At The Palais-Royal
Who said disco is dead? Isabel Marant brought the party to Paris Fashion Week with a collection bursting with ultra-short shorts, body-loving slip dresses, seductive leathers and sophisticated sequins that steal the spotlight.
