Loewe and Knot On My Planet have joined forces to save the elephants

In support of the Elephant Crisis Fund, Spanish fashion house Loewe has teamed up with Knot On My Planet and its global ambassador Doutzen Kroes in the fight against the ivory trade. The brand has launch a limited edition run of its Loewe Mini Elephant bag in tan which is adorned with handcrafted beadwork by Samburu Trust women from northern Kenya, who live among the elephants and are renowned for their skilled craftsmanship.

“We need to give back. For instance, the trafficking with ivory is not just terrible for the elephants themselves but has also a very negative impact on the ecosystems of Africa and Asia. It’s all connected and therefore we need to make sure we counterbalance the negative effects of what we do by supporting initiatives like this,” explained Jonathan Anderson, creative director of Loewe.

The bag is available online now and Loewe is donating all proceeds of sales to the Elephant Crisis Fund, which aims to stop poaching, prevent trafficking and end the demand for ivory.
