Nobody knows where the night will lead
For its autumn/winter 2018 Givenchy Night Noir campaign, legendary fashion photographer Steven Meisel under the direction of Givenchy artistic director, Clare Waight Keller decided to celebrate those stolen moments, captured on the fly. The campaign features an edgy scene somewhere vaguely underground. The black and white images echo Berlin in the mid-Eighties, yet are very much of the moment, staying true to the latest Givenchy ready-to-wear collection of the same name. "I wanted to capture the reality of the modern couple in all its diversity: amid a bustling scene or on a crowded dance floor, these urban characters always manage to find each other and flock together in the dark. I loved the idea of capturing a Givenchy romance through Steven Meisel’s masterful cinematic lens," said Waight Keller in a press release. Responsible for the sleek hair and makeup was Guido Palau and Pat McGrath, a duo Waight Keller consistently turns to. In keeping with the spirit of the Night Noir campaign, Givenchy will also be conducting a 4G wildposting sticker campaign in various cities around the world.
