International Women's Day is right around the corner and a slew of celebrity names are celebrating early...

Whilst there is still some way to go when it comes to closing the gender gap across the globe, the past few years have been quite momentous for women (around the world and in the region). With so much talk surrounding equal rights and the treatment of women via the #MeToo movement, followed by the launch of the Time's Up initiative, women's voices are now being heard, more loudly than they ever did.

To celebrate womanhood, International Women's Day is right around the corner and a slew of female forces and luxury labels are celebrating the triumphs of other women, ahead of the annual event on March 8.

Net-A-Porter

The luxury e-commerce destination has launched an exclusive collection made by women, for women.

The initiative has been brought to life for International Women's Day, with a slew of designers coming together to set a capsule collection in motion. Spearheading the designs of the collection this year are Victoria Beckham, Isabel Marant, Ellery, Rosie Assoulin, Alexa Chung and Perfect Moment.

Each designer has added their own empowering message on a T-shirt, and they've already been circulating the celebrity circuit. For instance, Diane Kruger, Nicole Kidman, Elle Fanning and Taraji P. Henson have been spotted rocking the designs.

Plus, all proceeds received from the pieces will benefit a non-profit organisation, Women for Women International. "Each t-shirt in this collection sends a powerful message of support, sisterhood and solidarity. Through this campaign and the vital funds raised, Net-A-Porter, along with six inspiring female designers, are helping to transform the lives not only of the women we work with but also their entire communities," said Brita Fernandez Schmidt, Executive Director for Women for Women International.

The capsule collection is now available for purchase on net-a-porter.com.

MyTheresa.com

Just as we thought we couldn't love MyTheresa.com more so than we already do, the luxury e-commerce giant are offering its users a unique experience this International Women's Day.

As part of the platform's second issue, aptly titled 'The Album', one of its chapters 'Personal Matters' focuses solely on supporting the annual event. Excitedly, 12 renowned designers currently leading the fashion industry, have donated an exceptional collection of handpicked personal items.

For example, you can now get your hands on a customised Gucci jacket by and from Alessandro Michele (if you act quickly enough). In addition to that, there's a Balenciaga clutch signed by Demna Gvasalia, a book tote with Maria Grazia Chiuri’s initials and many more wishlist-worthy pieces to add to your collectors' shelves.

The portfolio of designers includes the aforementioned, followed by Sandra Choi, Miuccia Prada, Silvia Fendi, Pierpaolo Piccioli, Jonathan Anderson, Brunello Cucinelli, Kym Ellery and Lucie & Luke Meier.

With all funds given to mothers2mothers – a non-profit organisation, fashion has never looked (and felt) so good.

All items from the Personal Matters collection will be available on MyTheresa.com from March 8-19, 2019.

Banana Republic

To celebrate International Women's Day, American retailer, Banana Republic, have launched its first-ever 'Equality Collection'. Compromised of seven pieces, the capsule collection feature slogans of empowerment plastered across T-shirts and accessories, too.

In continuity to champion women empowerment, the brand has teamed up with a non-profit association, titled CARE – which focuses on fighting poverty and supporting progress for women and girls around the world.

Looking good and doing good is something we can get on board with.

Banana Republic's Equality Collection is now available on Bananarepublic.com.
