The Biltmore Mayfair sits pretty on Grosvenor Square

The Biltmore Mayfair and Malone Souliers are offering an afternoon tea for shopaholics and chocoholics alike

With London Fashion Week coming to an end, the style set may be packing their bags and heading to Milan, but that doesn’t make the British capital any less stylish. In fact, one luxury hotel has partnered with a world-renowned shoe brand to launch an afternoon tea with a difference, and we highly suggest you add it to your London itinerary stat.

Yep, that’s right – choux and shoe-lovers alike will feel right at home at The Biltmore Mayfair, as the Grosvenor Square hotel has teamed up with Malone Souliers to transform the shoe brand’s classic silhouettes into delicate patisserie treasures, all designed by the hotel’s new executive pastry chef Norihito Muranaka. The likes of the House’s pointed-toe mules and accessories are also on display for your viewing pleasure.

Hosted in the hotel’s tea lounge, kick things off with a glass of bubbles before tucking into a gorgeous three tier stand piled high with an exquisite selection of handcrafted, colourful sweet creations that reflect the unique designs of Malone Souliers’ expertly crafted footwear. Served alongside traditional sandwiches and scones, highlights include a Severn and Wye gravlax smoked salmon sandwich, with yuzu kosho and dill crème fraiche and radish on soft rye bread and a Cornish chicken, basil pesto, rocket and sundried tomato sandwich on harissa bread.

The sweet treats are the real stars of the show, though – think a modern take on a strawberry, raspberry and rose compote and crumble in a caramel chocolate high heel; a tangy passionfruit, mango and pineapple creation with coconut and white chocolate mousse in a stiletto-shaped vanilla sable; and an Earl Grey tea bavarois, with lychee and raspberry confit presented as a chocolate handbag, they look almost too good to eat. Almost.

The best bit? If all that tasty goodness gets you in the mood for a little retail therapy, you can also shop Malone Souliers direct from the hotel lounge, with team members on hand to deliver shoes and accessories from the brand’s flagship Mount Street boutique. Now that’s the definition of a dream afternoon out to us. Available until the end of February. Book now
