Gucci Autumn/Winter 16

In the age of increasing gender fluidity, there has never been a better time for la Garçonne dressing, and we shall guide you through the fashion trends we picked up from the Men’s fashion week autumn/winter 2016 shows.

Tales Of The Orient

Exotic Asian prints and motifs have been very prominent in the Men’s collections, further enhanced by shades of oriental reds and citrus orange. Models marched down the runways wearing full looks emblazoned with dragon motifs at Gucci, and sassy florals on beautiful silk and brocade textured overcoats at DSquared2. We’ll be shopping in the men’s department in the coming season making our pick from the gorgeous eastern influences.

Butterfly Effect

Butterflies get a dark and dreamy makeover at McQueen who have been employing the motif for years. Colourful butterflies intertwined into the bright shirts at Antonio Marras and gorgeously put together by Valentino on flashy jaquard printed backpacks are a dream come true.

Eclectic Jewellery

Men’s jewellery has always held our fascination and this season’s runway ornaments are on top our wishlist – including the J.W. Anderson’s gender-fluid chokers in his trademark style teamed with floaty satin pyjamas in pastel colours and cropped floral bed jackets. We also couldn’t get our eyes off the stunning necklaces from Alexander McQueen fit for day to eveningwear. We’ll take one of each, please.

Supersize My Sweater

Women across the world have their own version the perfect oversized sweater that never fails to wow when put together with the right accessories. Raf Simons, in his first show since his exit from Dior, brings us an array of exaggerated proportions in his eponymous label’s autumn/winter 2016 show in bright reds and blue decorated with varsity stripes and back-to-school nostalgic prints. If you’re feeling bold then Missoni and Salvatore Ferragamo did their own version in Aztec prints – perfect for a date night when paired with strappy stilettoes and skinny leather trousers.
