The 30th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards took place in Los Angeles on the weekend – streaming live on Netflix for those that couldn’t attend the red carpet – to award the best in film and television performances from 2023. Seeing celebrities flaunting trophies has become a familiar sight since awards season began in January, though the SAG Awards is a highly coveted prize as winners are voted for by fellow actors.
Oppenheimer once again achieved awards for multiple outstanding performances, including by lead actor Cillian Murphy and supporting actor Robert Downey Jr, while The Bear dominated the television category; Aya Edebiri won outstanding performance while the entire cast was awarded outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series. Other winners included Elizabeth Debicki for The Crown; Ali Wong for her performance in Beef; and Lily Gladstone for Killers of the Flower Moon.
Nominees, presenters and A-list guests alike attended Saturday’s soiree in their finery, including Brie Larson in a playful Versace number and Jennifer Aniston in a tradition-breaking Celine gown.
