The French beverage company has enlisted Abloh to be its first "creative adviser for sustainable innovation design"
Natural mineral water giant Evian has announced that Virgil Abloh will be joining the brand for a long-term global multi-project collaboration. Abloh, who currently holds the position of men’s artistic director at Louis Vuitton as well as creative director of his own label Off-White, will be joining the Evian family as creative advisor for sustainable innovation design.
"Evian is an iconic brand with a strong heritage in fashion and creativity," the designer said in a statement. "Its sustainability ambitions align with my own, together we can push boundaries and explore new areas of revolution, paving a better future for generations globally."
As creative advisor for sustainable design, Virgil’s central role will be to aid in the design process of future Evian products. He will also be responsible for spreading awareness around the importance of innovation in design and sustainability through his platform.
The announcement comes as Evian steps toward its goal of becoming a 100% circular brand by 2025. By this date, the company aims for all its water bottles to be made out of recycled plastic. Abloh’s first project for Evian is set to be unveiled during fashion month next February and March.
