The first-ever exhibition by Peter Lindbergh, will be unveiled next month in Germany, at the Düsseldorf Kunstpalast art Museum.
Entitled Peter Lindbergh. Untold Stories, the show, which Lindbergh curated last year before his untimely death, offers an unexpected insight into the work of the renowned fashion photographer.
To document the landmark exhibition, Taschen have published a new book, also named Untold Stories, serves as an official companion to Lindbergh’s self-curated display.
The book showcases more than 150 photographs — dated from the early 1980s through to present day — which will be featured at the upcoming show, sharing images that capture intimate moments with some of Lindbergh’s closest companions; including Nicole Kidman, Uma Thurman, Jessica Chastain and Naomi Campbell.
The volume also presents detailed texts to accompany the images, covering the background of the exhibit, sharing a poignant tribute by Wim Wenders, a close friend of Lindbergh’s and offering further insight into the unique concept.
Although the exhibition will only run for a limited time — from February 4 until June 1 — the book presents a keepsake of the event with both emblematic and unpublished photographs which highlight Lindbergh’s unrestrained vision and creativity.
