Middle Eastern label, Kage, celebrates a decade in the industry with a Cruise 2020 collection dedicated to the years gone by.
The brand’s ten year milestone is appropriately marked with a montage of the iconic looks that have been reinvented in a collection entitled, the Archive.
Featuring 25 pieces, the lineup takes design cues from past presentations — with an array of signature maxi dresses and patterned blazers —which have a fresh feel courtesy of altered necklines, raised hems and new fabrics that fast forward the collection to 2020.
Airy summer silhouettes come in a citrus palette of zesty lemon and sorbet shades, complemented by playful prints like rainbow gingham and pastel florals.
Just like its predecessors, the collection reflects the Dubai-based brands effortless, nonchalant attitude to dressing which has been established and admired over the past decade.
“I’m very proud to say that I am approaching Kage’s 10-year anniversary and have been able to evolve over time, while remaining faithful to my brand DNA,” said Basma Abu Ghazaleh, the Emirati designer and co-founder of Kage, when she welcomed MOJEH into her Emirates Hills home last December.
“Designing clothes is in some respects similar to creating a piece of artwork,” she says. “Whether I’m drawing inspiration from architecture through lines or shapes or gathering inspiration from landscapes in nature – it’s all interconnected.”
