#BlackLivesMatter: Powerful Photographs From Protests Across The World

Jun 11, 2020 | 3 min read

Poignant and striking images that capture moments from the BLM marches

Holding signs that read “racism is a pandemic,””enough” and “no justice, no peace,” thousands of people from different corners of the globe took to the streets to show their support for the Black Lives Matter movement after the death of George Floyd, the 46-year-old man who died on May 25 during arrest by police officers in Minneapolis. The wave of marches — from Milan to Melbourne and Mexico City — honoured both Floyd and the other countless lives lost as a result of systemic racism, with protesters demanding justice and change, not only in America but across the world.

From the many protests over the past two weeks, we’ve seen striking images of people standing in solidarity; young children holding compelling signs, banners emblazoned in multiple languages, the words Black Lives Matter painted on the street leading to the White House and two ballerinas showcasing their own take on a protest while dancing in front a monument in Virginia, USA. Powerful and poignant, we’ve compiled just a snapshot of photographs that capture moments from these Black Lives Matter protests. Scroll through the visual diary above.
