Alserkal Art Week aims to create a space for collective re-learning through its highlight exhibition, On This Land. The exhibition was formulated by The Palestinian Museum, Barjeel Art Foundation and Alserkal Arts Foundation over only three weeks as a response to the horrific events unfolding in Gaza. On This Land is a curation of over 100 artworks, from pieces by Palestinian artists to works from the digital archives of the now-closed Palestinian Museum and artists representing Palestine from the Barjeel Art Foundation's collection.

Exhibiting at Concrete in Alserkal Avenue, On This Land offers glimpses into the lives of Palestinians through artworks and sculptures while the scent of sage wafts throughout the space. The opening night of On This Land saw artist Hazem Harb break his decade-long hiatus from charcoal drawing to perform a live session, where he used charcoal on paper to create a 10-meter artwork that is representative of the devastation and violence occurring in his hometown of Gaza. The piece depicts eight line-drawn faces and will be displayed until 26 November.

Alserkal Art Week is hosting over 15 exhibitions alongside talks, film screenings, performances, workshops and wellness sessions. Visitors to Alserkal Art Week can join daily tours at 3:30pm or explore the exhibitions from 10am to midnight until 26 November.
