This hair trend is literally outshining all others
You know when your hair is so straight and so glossy that it almost shines? Well, now there’s a name for that: glass hair, and it’s taking over our Instagram feeds. Just like the Korean concept of glass skin, which involved super smooth, ultra-luminous skin, glass hair is all about a blunt bob that's glossed to perfection and has that reflective texture.
Hairstylist Jennifer Yepez was one of the first people to highlight the trend when she posted a snapshot of Hailey Baldwin’s hair on Instagram at the begining of the year. To get the reflective look, Yepez used Kérastase Resistance Ciment Thermique Blow Dry Primer, Densifique Densimorphose Hair Mousse, and the Crème Magistrale Hair balm.
To get Kim K’s glass bob, celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton first cut Kim’s hair shorter than it has ever been before and kept it blunt with no angles. On wet hair he then applied the ColorWow Dream Coat Spray and blow-dried it using a large round bristle brush. To finish, he rubbed a few drops of shine serum (try Sachajuan's Shine Serum) over her hair to add shine and lock in the style. The result: Crazy smooth, reflective, glossy hair.
As for Jenna Dewan's super strong blunt glassy look, hairstylist Cash Lawless prepped the hair by wetting it down with Seven Seal spray. Section by section, he then applied Seven’s Diamond serum. Next he blow-dried the hair using a small boar bristle round brush on the sections around the nape and a large boar bristle round brush on the sections above. He wanted a blunt feel with just a slight bend. After cutting the hair, Lawless added some finishing touches by adding more Diamond serum, followed by flat ironing with a 1” iron. He then polished off the top layer of hair and killed any flyaways using the Polish balm from Seven.
