One of our favourite beauty brands, Hourglass Cosmetics, has made us fall in love with them all over again…
With an increase in demand for sustainable and cruelty-free everything, both the fashion and beauty industries continue to make great efforts to taking care of our furry friends. And a slew of brands have jumped on the eco-friendly wagon, with the most recent brand being Hourglass Cosmetics.
The American beauty brand is already synonymous with reinventing luxury cosmetics through innovative and cruelty-free ingredients.
However, now, the cosmetics label will be entering a new chapter by redefining what the term ‘cruelty-free’ actually means.
So, with that being said, Hourglass Cosmetics has pledged to be completely vegan by 2020 (yes!).
According to a statement, the brand said: “We’re focusing research and development on uncovering ground-breaking animal-free ingredients. Beyond redefining what cruelty free means for the beauty industry, we’re taking it a step further.”
What’s even more great is that you can actually take part in their process.
Every purchase made, Hourglass Cosmetics will donate 1% of all profits to the Nonhuman Rights Project. They’re “the only civil rights organisation working to secure fundamental rights for animals”.
