Clarins Opens Dubai Boutiques

After Clarins’s highly-anticipated boutique openings in both Hong Kong and Philadelphia, the highly-coveted skincare brand has recently unveiled two new spaces, including one in The Dubai Mall and another at Mirdif City Centre.

Beauty connoisseurs have long appreciated the wonders of Clarins’ firming creams, exfoliators and targeted anti-aging treatments, and can now enjoy a unique skincare experience in the UAE.

Jacques Clarins started with just the pure plant extract and essential oils,” educates Denise Barthe-Marti, Clarins’ international training manager and skin time expert, who spoke to MOJEH when we visited The Dubai Mall boutique’s opening.

Clarins has long been admired for its expert techniques regarding the application of its skincare products, as well as its effortless, natural-looking makeup that’s largely achieved thanks to the brand’s use of natural, plant-based ingredients.

Denise tells MOJEH that it’s always been important, and continues to be important, that nature is at the heart of every Clarins product and experience. “We always dominate and create each product’s formulation with it [plant extract] in mind. What we try to do, during the process, is achieve the maximum of what we want, which is – of course – to benefit the skin.

“Plant extract, this is always our priority. We always search and research the plants.”

But sometimes, Denise admits, sourcing these core ingredients doesn’t go as planned. “Sometimes we don’t always find the plant we need, so sometimes we must work with biotechnology, which today is interestingly a combination of plant extract and technology,” she informs further. “But the main ingredient used will always be the extract, because the brand has been created around the concept of the plant.”

Nature is present throughout the surprisingly tranquil boutique in The Dubai Mall, which has a vibrant interior that’s smothered in red, white and natural wood. A relaxing oasis, Denise reveals that many of Clarins’s Dubai-based clients have come to the boutique to voice concerns about their skin’s dehydration.

“The best protection you can give yourself is by having a day cream and a foundation. That is a must, and you must know how to properly how use, as well as how to remove it,” advises Denise. “Many people don’t know the right way to remove their makeup and skincare products.”
