Beauty Looks at Couture Week

Christian Dior.Maria Grazia Chiuri envisions a romanticised 18th Century heroine for her first Haute Couture collection at the House of Christian Dior. Here, models’ lips were dabbed in blush pink while eyelids glimmered with a neutral pearlescent sheen.
Georges Hobeika. In a collection that focused on applique, shades of white and spindling gold ornamentation drew focus to the eye. However, unlike traditional mascara the eyes were lined in shimmering lavender, which was blended into exotic pink.
Giambattista Valli. Our favourite look from the entire day came from Giambattista Valli’s whose runway was awash with fresh-faced models, all lightly dusted with an effervescent glow of bronze, a dab of glossy eye balm and a pink lip.
Iris Van Herpen. Dramatic for sure, Iris Van Herpen brought the focus back to the promise of an uncertain future. A bleached eye-brow disappeared into matte skin, and brought focus to a dramatically chopped front fringe.
Fransceo Scognamiglio. A light tinge of peach highlights the cheeks, which was coordinated with a darker tone around the eyes. Striking, slicked-back hair also highlights perfectly contoured cheekbones. Beautiful.
Givenchy. Proving that the brow game is only getting stronger, Givenchy’s Riccard Tisci highlighted the importance of au naturel makeup with a heavy emphasis primarily on the brow, paired with a glowing highlighter

Couture has always been considered an art form with the average creation taking up to 360 hours,depending on the style. It’s no wonder then that this level of artistry is also applied to the beauty looks of the models that are handpicked twice a year to wear these one-of-a-kind clothes. Today, we look to six of our favourite beauty looks from the first day of Couture Week.
