Although often recognised for her monochrome wardrobe, Gabrielle Chanel was a lover of colour. The Maison’s Creation Studio - which is still spearheading the collections until Virginie Viard’s successor is announced - celebrated Coco Chanel’s adoration of colour through the spring/summer 2025 haute couture collection.

From midnight to white and a plethora of pastels in-between, the collection is a spectrum of colours that represents the cycle of night to day - a pyjama-style ensemble is followed by the Maison’s signature suiting in sunshine yellow and a sunset-hued coat. Elsewhere, colour is subtlely infused through barely there pastels and punchy inner linings that flash with movement.
Chanel is the oldest couture Maison in operation, and the spring/summer 2025 collection celebrates the craftsmanship for which Chanel is renowned. Embroidery, intricate braids, precious buttons, pleating and camellias of crystal offer a window into the ateliers and the unrivalled skills of the Creation Studio.

The show took place at the Nave of the Grand Palais where a double-C structure formed the runway; Chanel has utilised the historical site for its presentations since 2005 and became a patron in 2015.
Not only a showcase of innovation and savoir-faire, the Chanel spring/summer 2025 haute couture show was a celebration of 110 years of Chanel Haute Couture. And what a celebration it was.
