AND RELAX….

While most are escaping the city now that schools have closed, things are heating up here, with Dubai’s social scene laying on the very best to keep its discerning residents entertained this summer, from chic eats to get-away-from-it-all spa days to books you can immerse yourself in. Enjoy at leisure…

THE EXPERIENCE

The Loft restaurant at Dubai Opera

The Loft restaurant at Dubai Opera

If, like us, you have a penchant for seafood, then set your gastronomy GPS to The Loft at Dubai Opera. Its new Oysters & Pearls night pays tribute to the finer things in life, where you can sip and shuck through an evening of sophistication, bubbles, and, of course, fresh oysters. The restaurant’s view of Burj Khalifa is second to none and the feeling of eating al fresco will make up for the city’s soaring temperatures. Dive in.

The Loft is located at Dubai Opera, Downtown Dubai. For more information, please call +971 4 362 7312

THE READ

Alaia: Livre de Collection book

Alaia: Livre de Collection book

If you’re winding down for summer, then this beautiful tome is made for indulgent days on the sofa. Celebrating over 35 years of friendship, Prosper Assouline (founder of the iconic publishing house) reprinted Azzedine Alaia’s 1992 Collector’s Book, which goes behind the scenes of the masterful designer’s 1992 show, revealing the complete story of a fashion show, from start to finish, whilst uncovering the secret alchemy that goes into creating such work. It’s a visual feast and an eye-opening slice of history for all fashion enthusiasts.

Alaia: Livre de Collection is available at Boutique 1, at Mall of the Emirates. For more information, please call +971 4 448 3400

THE EXERCISE

Hush from the Rush yoga session at DIFC

Hush from the Rush yoga session at DIFC

In a bid to get Dubai thinking about mental health and wellness, DIFC is hosting a ‘Hush from the Rush’ yoga day on July 9, with a mission to biohack the mind and body into good health. Partnering with yoga studio INSPIRE, the session aromatherapy, sound baths and Yin Yang yoga to help relieve stress, stimulate the vagus nerve and improve both mental and physical strength. With DIFC as the backdrop, this promises to be as impressive as it is impactful.

Hush from the Rush takes place from 5-8pm on July 9 at DIFC Gate Avenue. For more information, please register through the Mindbody app
