From Zendaya to Emma Stone, MOJEH rounds up highlights and best dressed from the Oscars.

After 13 nominations, The Shape of Water won four awards, including Best Picture. Making the somewhat eerie and fantastical thriller directed by Guillermo del Toro – who also one for Best Director – the year’s biggest success.

Actress Frances McDormand of Star of Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, took home best actress. On stage she asked all female nominees in every category to stand before adding – “Look around, ladies and gentlemen. We all have stories to tell and projects we need financed. Invite us into your office in a couple days – or you can come to ours, whichever suits you best – and we’ll tell you all about them.” It was an encouraging way to conclude her win.

Gary Oldman won best actor for his role as Winston Churchill in The Darkest Hour.

Phantom Thread, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and set in 1950s London’s couture world, won for Best Costume (unsurprisingly). Starring Daniel Day-Lewis as a couturier living with his sister, played by Lesley Manville.

Actress in a Supporting Role went to Allison Janney for I, Tonya.

Actor in a Supporting Role went to Sam Rockwell for Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri.
