MOJEH Book Club: Publication #17

51 sec read

Featuring double self-portraits of Japanese artist Fumiko Imano, alongside Dutch model Saskia de Brauw, Publication #17 showcases the fashion house’s ready-to-wear spring/summer18 collection by Jonathan Anderson.

In a series of exclusively commissioned images, Fumiko’s self-portraiture is a reaction to settling in Hitachi, Japan, after spending her childhood in between Brazil, London and Paris.

Admitting that she felt alone, Fumiko started to cut and paste self-portraits to create seemingly-candid collages of herself playing with an imaginary twin sister.

Publication #17 is set on the grounds of Paris’ Maison de l’UNESCO, and captures a series of looks styled by Benjamin Bruno. These beautiful limited-edition hardcover is presented in a dust jacket that’s smothered in watercolours of animals by Fumiko, taken from her 2014 art series, called I’m Hungry.

The volume will run 1,200 hand-numbered copies, while a digital version, including a video interview with Fumiko, will be available to download from iTunes.
