The highly anticipated video clip for Elissa’s new song shared a heartbreaking look into her personal life
Fans of Lebanese superstar Elissa were left in shock when the award-winning artist released the video clip for her new song, “Ila Kol Elli Bihebbouni” (For All Those Who Love Me) on YouTube, which revealed she has been secretly battling breast cancer. The seven-minute video showcases real life radiotherapy sessions and features a voiceover of Elissa speaking about her battle and how she tried to keep her illness a secret from her fans, not letting her treatment affect her busy work schedule.
The video, which was directed by Angie Jammal, includes footage from Elissa’s Dubai concert in February, where she collapsed during the performance and had to be carried offstage. At the time, the singer told her fans it was nothing serious.
Although the video was only released yesterday, it has already been viewed almost three million times and has over 12,000 comments from fans sending their well wishes.
Thankfully, at the end of the video, The Voice Arabia judge revealed that she has beaten the disease and is recovering. “I’ve recovered, I’ve beaten the illness, and I won.” She also urged fans about the importance of early detection. “Don’t ignore it, face it,” she warned. “Do it not only for yourself, but for your loved ones.”
