Hedi Slimane will be joining Virgil Abloh and Kim Jones
Following on from the buzz that surrounded Hedi Slimane‘s first Celine show, the fashion house has announced it will be joining the Paris menswear calendar in 2019. This follows the decision by Givenchy to switch back to the menswear fashion calendar for autumn 2019 with a presentation on January 16.
Celine is currently negotiating a show date with the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, and it is not yet known whether the brand will present solely menswear, or whether Slimane will combine the offering with womenswear as per his SS19 debut in Paris.

Following the designer’s appointment to Celine, Bernard Arnault, chairman and chief executive officer of the brand’s parent company Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH), indicated that menswear would be a large focus for the label going forward. “I am particularly happy that Hedi is back within the LVMH Group and taking the reins of our Celine Maison,” he said. “His arrival at Celine reinforces the great ambitions that LVMH has for this Maison. Hedi will oversee and develop all creativity for both women’s and men’s fashion, but also for leather goods, accessories and fragrances. He will leverage his global vision and unique aesthetic virtuosity in further building an iconic French Maison.”
