‘Tis the season to shine, and Van Cleef & Arpels is getting us in the festive spirit early with its new fine jewellery collection, which pays tribute to one of the rare flowers to bloom in the heart of winter: the Christmas rose.
Reimagining Rose de Noël, a collection that the French jeweller actually introduced many winters ago in the 1970s, this year the floral motif is now mini-sized, blooming in two distinctive shades – the lustrous white of mother-of-pearl and the intense blue of lapis lazuli. Van Cleef & Arpels has unveiled a pendant and pair of earrings for each stone, designed to embrace the hollow of the neck or gently frame the face with their delicate nuances.
What’s more, the fine jewellery house is even bringing back a handful of coral designs that resemble the original Rose de Noël pieces, despite the rarity of the organic gemstone.
Bringing in the new with the old, its second collection, the Hellébore jewellery collection, also has the Christmas rose as a starting point, which is partnered with sparkling diamonds that complement the glimmer of the lapis lazuli, mother-of-pearl and turquoise stones featured on a necklace, clip and rings.
Beautiful and bright, the flowers are made with a delicate openwork structure that adds a modern edge to the extravagant collection.
