Pomellato gives the humble chain a modern update through its latest Catene jewellery collection
When you think of luxury Italian jewellery house Pomellato, the chain is often one of the first things that comes to mind. It’s no surprise, then, that the brand’s latest collection, Catene, pays a stunning tribute to its passion for this fierce design element, imbuing it across bangles, earrings and rings for a young, fresh take on a house classic.

An original collection of confident yet minimalist jewels, Catene, which translates to ‘chain’ in Italian, was created to help inject a sense of boldness to your everyday look, while emphasising the feminine charm and glamour so characteristic of traditional Milanese life. And who better to show off the jewels in all their glory than Viola and Vera Arrivabene, possibly the chicest sisters in Italy and ambassadors for the new collection? At the heart of Catene lies the house’s famous flexible ‘gourmette’ chain, now combined with rigid elements in easy-to-wear proportions. “I love the design and the versatility, and the fact each piece looks just as good when paired with a casual look as it does with your most elegant,” says Vera. The bracelets feature five gold fully mobile links, contrasting with the solid gold underside of the hinged bangle. “It’s my absolute favourite piece,” says Vera. “I see myself wearing it every day with my usual white tee and trousers, but also with evening dresses.” The same sentiment goes for the tactile rings and discreet earrings, all of which are offered in rose gold, with or without diamonds, or in white gold with diamonds.
