Last night, London's Royal Festival Hall hosted the world premiere of 'Wonka', where Timothée Chalamet stole the spotlight in an impressive custom Cartier necklace inspired in the new Warner Bros. movie. The 27-year-old actor who played Willy Wonka wore a Tom Ford suit, reminiscent of Wonka's classic purple overcoat. He completed the look with chocolate-brown square-toe Chelsea boots.
As a Cartier ambassador, Chalamet collaborated to create the necklace with Marie-Laure Cérède, Cartier's Creative Director of Jewelry and Watchmaking. The striking piece featured 964 emeralds, rubellites, pink tourmalines, and blue opals, all set in a white gold base with nearly 1,000 additional precious stones.
This stunning creation, which took over 450 hours to craft, perfectly fits the contour of his throat, as Kerry McDermott noted for British Vogue. "It's beyond anything I could have dreamt," Chalamet said of the piece.
This exclusive event at the Royal Festival Hall isn't the only stage for this unique necklace. The candy-inspired piece will be displayed in various jewelry exhibits around the world as part of The Cartier Collection.
Chalamet is known for his bold and daring fashion choices on the red carpet, which often challenge gender norms. He has consistently wowed fans with his unique sense of style, such as his backless Haider Ackermann jumpsuit, Louis Vuitton harness, and lilac Latex Prada suit worn during a recent visit to Tokyo. Once again, his latest appearance on the red carpet showcased his flair for combining unique style with fashion-forward elegance.
