Let your colours run wild with Hublot’s latest launches in a riot of eye-popping shades and haute horlogerie fit for the most daring wrist

There could have been no better place than the candy-striped shores of Miami for Hublot to make its newest launches. Because if anywhere can understand the importance of deep pigmentation it’s the city with the highest concentration of art deco buildings in the world, replete with pastel and neon shades galore. It was the setting for this year’s edition of LVMH Watch Week, which took place at a private villa on Star Island, a mere stone’s throw away from those famed 1930s frontages, and Hublot’s latest presentations had a level of colour that more than matched the neighbouring Ocean Drive architecture. Taking its ‘Art of Fusion’ ethos to the max, a heady mix of bold shades and high technology was the signature of Hublot’s launches, proving to be crowd-pleasers with a style for everyone. Here, MOJEH counts down the brightest of the bunch – just don’t forget your Miami Vice shades.

Sunny Blue Skies

Classic Fusion Tourbillon Orlinski

Ever since French artist Richard Orlinski first collaborated with Hublot back in 2017, it’s been hit after hit for his graphic and angular designs. Incorporating facets into the case and bezel’s surfaces, his contributions to Hublot’s back catalogue are instantly recognisable and highly desirable. This time around, the risk-taking Maison has decided to go with a high pop colour scheme, giving us sunshiny yellow and sky blue to choose from — and what a decision it’s turning out to be. From the perpetually spinning tourbillon at six o’ clock to the skeletonised bridges that allow the movement to ‘float’ inside the case, these are altogether good fun pieces with a touch of high camp thanks to the brightness of their shades. At 45mm, these timepieces are no shrinking violets — but with such vivid colours and technological prowess, you wouldn’t want them to be.

The Whole Spectrum

Spirit of Big Bang 32mm Jewellery

It’s a collection of contrasts — vivid yet easy on the eye, a statement that manages to remain understated. And while these gorgeous gold, steel or rainbow-toned timepieces may have ‘Big’ in their name, their deliciously diminutive 32mm diameter makes them an absolute joy to behold — and to wear. Jewellery watches in the truest sense of the term, they combine a whole lot of tonneau-shaped self-winding horology in a meticulously gem-set package. A total of 479 brilliant- cut diamonds — weighing in at 2.1 carats — spread from case to bezel to dial on the king gold and steel models, paired with pure white or contrasting black natural rubber straps. The rainbow versions feature 493 gems, with 58 baguette-cut stones on the bezel alone, the king gold cases and equally colourful straps ensuring an altogether dayglo look. It’s a meeting of design, technology and craftsmanship beautiful enough to make a rainbow shine even on the cloudiest day — no need to look for that pot of gold.

Luminous Limelight

Big Bang Unico Green SAXEM

Continuing to press forward in the latest horological technology, Hublot has made something of a speciality of creating innovative materials, and SAXEM is proving to be a versatile and enduring addition to the Maison’s repertoire. As resistant as sapphire but with a cleaner, brighter and more luminous shine, the bright green shade of this Big Bang Unico has been years in the making and is a true technological triumph. The robust 42mm case is as solid as it is bright, with the patented Hublot One Click system making changing straps to suit your mood a positive breeze. A tungsten oscillating weight visible through the caseback makes for another point of visual interest, while the date complication makes this a practical partner to have on your wrist. As only 100 of these green goddesses will be made, it’s also bound to be an eye catcher, whichever way you look at it. Available at Hublot boutiques in The Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates and Galleria Mall Abu Dhabi, UAE
