This unveiling solidified the region’s role as a vital host for monumental luxury experiences

In a landmark moment for haute joaillerie and the luxury landscape, Dior presented the second chapter of its Diorama & Diorigami collection at the breathtaking Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort in Abu Dhabi. Held amidst the ethereal dunes of the Liwa Oasis from 31 October to 4 November, 2024, this highly anticipated event underscored the Middle East's growing influence as a premier destination for global fashion. Following the debut of the collection's first chapter in Florence, this unveiling solidified the region’s role as a vital host for monumental luxury experiences.

With Victoire de Castellane at the creative helm, the Diorigami collection expanded on Dior’s timeless design codes, presenting a vibrant fusion of opulent natural motifs and couture-level craftsmanship. Castellane’s creations brought Dior’s heritage to life through an enchanted world of fantastical flora and fauna, crafted to harmonise with Abu Dhabi’s majestic desert landscape and cultural richness. This remarkable setting underscored the symbiosis of nature and couture that defines the Diorigami collection, highlighting the Middle East’s allure as a fitting home for such a transformative showcase.

The event’s immersive scenography transported guests into a mythical forest where each piece of jewellery told its own story. Intricate swans crafted from sand, a hidden doe and floral motifs echoing origami folds adorned exquisitely crafted necklaces, rings, and earrings - each celebrating Dior’s signature couture techniques. The collection embodied Parisian elegance and paid homage to Monsieur Dior’s legacy in pleating, a skill he deemed “a high point of fashion.” Through these elements, Castellane drew attention to the intricate artisanship and bold colour palette that have become her hallmark.

The gemstones, vibrant in a spectrum of hues, embodied Dior’s belief that “jewellery is only as good as its colour.” From lush greens and serene blues to vivid pinks, the pieces shimmered against the desert sands, offering a nature-inspired narrative that captured the rich light and tones of the Arabian landscape.

This exclusive unveiling in Abu Dhabi not only elevated Dior’s legacy but also reaffirmed the Middle East’s position as an essential player on the global luxury stage. By choosing Abu Dhabi for this milestone event, Dior celebrated the region’s growing influence in haute joaillerie and luxury fashion, marking a defining chapter in the Middle East’s role as a key partner in high-couture storytelling. This extraordinary showcase cemented the region’s status as an indispensable pillar of haute joaillerie and couture, anchoring its place within the global luxury arena.
