If you’re looking to get your hands on a truly bespoke, one-of-a-kind timepiece just in time for the festive season, Vacheron Constantin is auctioning a Les Cabinotiers watch at the ‘Bid For the Louvre’ sale next month and it’s set to drum up a lot of interest.
Held online between December 1st – 15th on the Christie’s website, Vacheron Constantin is providing the only horological lot among all the exclusive pieces put up for auction, and its acquirer will even have the opportunity to personalise it through full participation in its creation, along with the experts and master craftsmen of Vacheron Constantin and Le Louvre.
In addition to the dial, which will reproduce an artwork from the Louvre Museum, the owner will also be able to choose the case material – platinum or pink or white gold – to have a engraving made on the officer-type case-back, as well as opt for their choice of strap, so it really will be completely bespoke purchase. What’s more, 100% of all sale proceeds will be donated, so you’ll be doing your bit at the same time.
The timepiece itself will be powered by in-house Calibre 2460 SC, crafted according to the demanding standards of Vacheron Constantin and Haute Horlogerie in terms of both reliability and finishing.
More than just a watch, the auction offers a unique adventure in both Paris and Geneva, as the owner will be whisked away on a private visit to the Louvre in Paris. Here they will be able to choose a work of art preserved in the museum which which will be reproduced on the dial using the miniature painting or grisaille enamel technique. A trip to the Manufacture Vacheron Constantin in Geneva will follow, where the new owner will have the opportunity to choose the personalisation options for this exceptional watch.
