According to wedding planners, the buzzword for brides getting hitched in 2020 is individuality. With Instagram sharing every moment, dress, detail, petal and amuse-bouche - there is so much pressure for brides, and couples, to deliver a picture perfect day. And while you can enlist the help of the region’s finest to plan, preen and perfect most parts of your day, one thing you can’t delegate is the finding and fitting of your dream wedding dress.
To make the search a little less tiresome, we’ve sifted through all the spring/summer 2020 collections and trends - there’s bridal, couture and ready-to-wear – to bring you an edit of the best SS20 bridal trends.
We also take a first look at the savvy new launch from MatchesFashion, The Wedding Edit. The ‘Edit’ consists of a carefully curated selection of modern wedding and event dressing pieces, including bespoke collections by established and emerging designers.
Think Emilia Wickstead, Ganni, Galvan, Giambattista Valli, Halpern, Roland Mouret, The Attico, Vivienne Westwood and many, many more. Fashion and Buying Director, Natalie Kingham told us - “We wanted to create a dedicated area where our clients can find unique pieces for their wedding and special events that can be worn again for many years to come.”
On the catwalks and at the SS20 presentations, there appeared to be a dress style for every destination and bride, from traditional and modest, to the more risqué and avant guard, not to mention the suits worthy of a Sex & The City Style registry office situation – all brides are catered for.
Kristie Romanos, designer at Esposa Couture summed up the 2020 mood. “Our inspiration dived in the deepest fantasies of women’s imagination to recreate enchanting looks of love, designed, weaved, and embroidered with exquisite craftsmanship for the versatile bride,” she said.
So, without further ado...we’ve rounded up a SS20 bridal trend for every eventuality.
