It’s time to free yourself from sleeves and straps
In a welcome resurgence of ’90s staples like bike shorts and hair clips, the humble tube top is also getting a surprising reboot for summer 18. Whether you want to dress yours up for an unexpected take on formal attire or simply want to wear something cool on a hot day, the tube top is on a mission to win back hearts and wardrobes this season and we couldn’t be happier about it.
Layer it over a shirt
There are several ways to ensure you keep your modesty while wearing a tube top, but one of our favourites is by layering it over a shirt. To ensure your tube top remains the focal point of your outfit, pick a shirt that isn’t too bright or overly patterned.
Add a blazer
For a more formal approach to the tube top try teaming it with a blazer and black trousers like Cara Delevingne. While the model chose boots to complete her look, we recommend a stiletto to help elongate your legs.
Not confident about revealing your midriff or want something a little more modest? Try wearing a longer version of the tube top with high-waisted trousers.
Wear it with denim
Whether you opt for jeans or a denim mini skirt, you can’t go wrong with this styling combo. And believe us when we say double denim is always a good idea.
Don’t be afraid of colour
While black is always a good choice, it’s also a safe one. In order to spice up your look, try something a little more adventurous like this matching orange two-piece Zuri Hall wore to the premiere of The Spy Who Dumped Me.
