With an overall appreciation for well-constructed, everyday clothes — the trends seen on the autumn/winter 2023 catwalks— designers are shining the spotlight on strong silhouettes

Coat Tales

Long in stature and sweeping just above the ankles, if you’re planning on investing in just one statement piece, make it one of winter’s fabulous new floor-length coats. A must for trips to cooler destinations, look for quality leather and faux fur detailing.

Stacks On Stacks

From suits to separates, wardrobes are getting the relaxed treatment for AW23, championing loose-fitting layers that are perfect for the office and beyond. Try pairing slouchy trews with cosy knits and fitted white shirts for the win.

Don't Call It A Comeback

Blame the likes of Isabel Marant and Chloé, but 70s-inspired shapes are one of the fastest-growing autumn trends, from wide-legged jeans to pleated skirts. We recommend channelling the trend in this denim Alexander McQueen jumpsuit paired with chunky gold accessories to complete the retro-fabulous look.

Two For One

Is it a coat? Is it a dress? That’s the beauty of this season’s penchant for hybrid dressing, as wardrobe staples double up to give you more bang for your buck. A cinched-in waist creates the illusion of an hourglass - fashion’s current favourite shape.

Pump Up The Volume

From balloon tops to puffed up jackets, the season’s voluminous trend demands to be seen. While not often synonymous with minimalism, Isabelle Blanche proves the two can go together with a black leather trench coat that’s the talk of the town.

Suit Up, Look Sharp

When it comes to your shoulder pads, there’s only one rule — go big or go home. Power-shoulder blazers are well and truly back on the agenda with suits sizing up for AW. Just ask Nicolas Ghesquière, who really upped the ante at Louis Vuitton.

Function First

For every eccentric, emboldened and artistic silhouette we saw on the runways, there was another that represented efficaciousness and ease, most notably the return of utilitarian trends. Team a military-inspired shirt with anything from leather trousers to skirts for a versatile, relaxed and comfortable ensemble.

Laser Focus

The antithesis to all those oversized ensembles, laser-cut dresses are equally on-trend this autumn, with Matthieu Blazy’s leather dresses all anyone could talk about long after his Bottega show closed. An eveningwear staple, this is one that’s guaranteed to turn heads.

Outer Beauty

With impeccable tailoring, beautiful fabrics and exquisite embellishments, anyone who’s anyone will be investing in an oversized coat this winter. Schiaparelli in particular made a strong case for the power of a big black coat that is sure to command attention.

Work Smarter

Office-ready attire was front and centre for AW23 as designers put an emphasis on sharp suiting with one common theme — bringing size and slouch in equal measure. Looking as effortlessly chic with a pair of brogues as with heels, the art to pulling it off is perfectly polished hair and makeup.
