Summer was all about a barely there makeup look. Glowing skin, muted lips and a dusting of blush took us beyond the beach with effortless if understated appeal. But, as each season rebels against what has gone before, we ready our makeup bags for a deluge of autumnal products that bring a classic glamour back to our beauty regimes. Makeup artist Saloi Jeddi recreates the look favoured by Roksanda Ilincic, Dennis Basso, Versace and Dolce&Gabbana on the cover of MOJEH Issue 30. A look distinguished by defined eyes and rouged lips, modernised by a largely matte complexion with merely a hint of illuminating highlighter on cheekbones and temples.  Monique Lhuillier took the look a step further on the runway, her jewel toned gowns accentuated by heavily smoked eyes in indigo and violet tones that held an instantly glamourous evening allure. Sophisticated palettes of greys and taupes work equally well. It’s time to experiment as all things ladylike well and truly return.

Much as we love a high-low beauty look and can see the appeal of sexily mussed bed hair juxtaposed against an elegantly ‘done’ beauty look, there’s also something to be said for following a trend to its natural conclusion. Remember the sleek layers, blow dried to perfection that we all coveted in the early noughties? The look is back and as blow dry bars spring up all over town, it’s the perfect time to coax your tresses into bouncy obedience for a polished refinement that is the essence of autumn.

Classic beauty staples for AW15, these are the products you need to recreate the look:
