The last stretch of runway shows from Paris Fashion Week embraced the French capital, with the month-long event coming to an end overnight.
Similar to every season, Nicolas Ghesquière closed Paris Fashion Week with a bow, after his latest collection for Louis Vuitton debuted on the runway.
It was a collection fit for champions. Particularly those from the ‘80s.
Ghesquière’s dreamy creations merged elements of the past and present – a reoccurring theme throughout his career at the maison. Whilst juxtaposing youthful elements with references from the ‘80s, the Creative Director continuously (and delightfully) pulls it together – all the time.
Models stepped out in a slew of textural ensembles that clashed against the primary coloured-backdrop. Think classic tweed, leopard prints, quilted pieces, leather separates and silver sequins galore.
In addition to that, there was an abundance of achingly cool details that were not-to-be-missed. For example, prairie blouses with voluminous sleeves, bedazzled blue dresses, colour-blocked basics and pop-art graphics.
As for the location? The iconic Centre Pompidou was recreated for the backdrop to the brand’s runway show at the Louvre. And it set the tone for a collection filled with pizzazz.
