This season we look to all things khaki as designers revive the decades-old colour into their current cruise collections.
Marching the frontline this season is the utilitarian trend. Military influences were noticeably present with the flagging of khaki greens in a number of Cruise 2016 collections. This trend was first brought to life following WW1 as tailors prioritised military uniform and the deficiency of casual garments rapidly withered. This decade-old trend remains fresh in the minds of designers for its versatility and timeless ability to flatter the masses. This season, a hybrid between military and safari are explored with a tasteful inclusion of urban nuances. Boxy cuts are adopted with durable cargo pockets and serviceable buttons. Voluminous silhouettes are styled with waist clenching belts, revealing the wearers natural shape.
