It’s clear that individualism plays a key factor in the carriers of these outspoken pieces and in a world of It-bags it’s refreshing to see accessories take a step away from the norm. Whether it’s an Inca-gold clutch shaped like a palm at Schiaperelli, a furry pill bag at Elie Saab or simply oversized with intricate embroidery, each piece speaks a language of anti-commercialism and indicates a rise in the rebellious spirit of today's customer. The very concept of the bag has seen a revolution over the past few years with women no longer choosing functionality over style but looking for the combined impact of both. After all, how much can one really carry in a berry shaped arm ornament? Not much, but then again the visual appeal of these pieces outweighs those pesky functionality issues by far.
