Head-to-toe hues make for bold statements. Look towards rich, lively tones for added oomph
Model Karolina Laczkowska makes a case for block hues as a functional, yet fierce, way to see out the first month of the year. Easy to navigate - an entire outfit lifted from one hue, what can be easier than that? - and still hugely impactful. Joyous colours such as pillar-box red, citrus yellow and sea blue lead the pack. Wear with minimal extras - Laczkowska dons nothing more than a pair of statment earrings - so the outfit remains key. Monotone shoes create a good juxtaposition between footwear and lively clothing choices.
In terms of brands, consider niche, London based designers. (The British capital is celebrated for its normcore and functional approach to design). Roksanda, Erdem and Joseph are just a few examples of the British based brands leaning towards the stylish simplicity of block colouring. Pringle of Scotland, Christopher Kane and Edeline Lee also make the line-up.
The beauty of this trend is that it's clean, unfussy and structured, allowing room for an 'anything goes' attitude when considering your hair and make-up look. Up the ante and opt for a bold, chiseled look - think strong brows, cheek bones and lips - or channel model Laczkowska and soften the look with undone hair and barely there beauty.
