We look at the top three hair and makeup trends that shined at the Golden Globes last night

At last night’s Golden Globes—the first in a string of glamorous award ceremonies to follow—starlets brought their beauty A-game as the industry’s top makeup artists created beauty looks fit for an acclaimed performance. Retro glam was the unofficial trend of the night as Hollywood's lead women stepped out in tamed lustrous bobs and sparkle-laden eyes with perfectly bronzed skin. We look at the top three beauty trends from last night for some old-school beauty inspiration.

Bronze Goddess

The golden girls of Hollywood swept the red carpet in perfectly bronzed skin, neutral makeup and the fresh-faced glow of a goddess. The trick to make this look work is to keep other elements of your makeup as simple as possible and brush highlighting bronzers on the peaks of your face for an ethreal lustre like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Amber Heard

Faux Bobs

Taking inspiration from Marilyn Monroe's coiffed curls, the latest hair trend is one to hold on to for the red carpet season. Hairstylists have been transforming manes by creating a bun that was converted into a faux bob, for a perfect no-cut short style. The pseudo bob was a popular style among stars such as Kate Winslet and Amber Heard. Team with major lashes and the signature bombshell neckline to complete the glamorous look.

Zendaya

Eyes That Sparkle

A forever favourite on the A-list circuit, the smokey eye received an upgrade last night as stars from Cate Blanchett to Amy Schumer added some sparkling shimmer to their kohl-rimmed eyes.  If you're feeling particularly adventurous then follow Olivia Wilde and add some shiny burgundy hues to your eye palette for a sultry look.
