Accessory Focus: The Kitten Heel

Oct 24, 2016 | 1 min read

We explore one of autumn's most wearable shoe trends.

Since their Fifties debut kitten heels have had a constant presence in the world of fashion. For the autumn/winter16 season designers approached them in a plethora of ways. At Alberta Ferretti silky slip on mules with shoelace details held a quaint Sixties vibe, while at Kenzo tiger stripes in electric hues brought a vibrant energy to the collection. One of the biggest drawcards of kitten heels are their practicality - their low heel height makes them ideal for occasions that require a lot of standing or walking. To tap into the trend this season select a pair with a pointed toe for a more polished look or embrace a pair with a structured heel to give an outfit a contemporary twist. Textured heels in velvet, suede or exotic skins are a fantastic way to add depth to a look or provide a visual break from a single colourway. We've compiled and edit of our favourite pairs for autumn.
