THE EXHIBITION

Akka Artwork by Naqsh Collective

Tabari Artspace is showcasing its art-season finale throughout this month, with Stitched Stories, an exhibition of works by Naqsh Collective. Founded in 2009, Naqsh – which means to ‘engrave’ – is the creative brainchild of two Jordanian sisters, Nisreen and Nermeen Abudail, and this show reiterates their vision to merge age-old Arab world design practices with a clean, contemporary aesthetic that repositions elements of Middle Eastern art, architecture and heritage in a minimalist frame. On display are works from past series – including Road to Damascus, Road to EgyptWihdeh CollectionJaffa and Bride’s Cushion – each an education on the nuances that define Middle Eastern culture.

Stitched Stories runs until July 1 at Tabari Artspace in The Gate Village, DIFC. For more information, please call +971 4 323 0820

THE FINE DINING

Ewaan at Palace Downtown

One of our favourite ways to while away an Eid Al-Fitr evening is in fine company surrounded by fine food. There are myriad options to do so around the city, with one of our favourites, Ewaan at Palace Downtown. The grandeur of the setting is so deliciously complimented by the Arabic fare, allowing for an evening where food and friendship combine in a beautiful Arabesque setting.

Dinner throughout Eid Al-Fitr at Ewaan, Palace Downtown, starts at 7pm from Dhs255 per person. For more information, please call +971 4 888 3444

THE CULTURE

What She Said conversation will take place at SoBe, W Hotel Dubai – The Palm

Inspirational stories of bold women achieving great things take centre stage once again with W Hotels’ What She Said conversation series. The formidable panel includes Zayan Ghandour, Khulood Thani, Nez Gebreel, Safiya Abdallah and Caroline Labouchere, resulting in an enriching evening of insight, education and empowerment.

What She Said takes place on June 25 at SoBe playground, W Hotel Dubai – The Palm. The event is open to all on a first-come, first-served basis
