Pastels for spring may not be groundbreaking, but the colour code continues to pull power moves on the runway

Season after season, sugary shades inject a sweet note into our wardrobe — from powder blue to yellow sherbet and ever-so-soft lilac. For SS20, the proven palette returned with a subtle new look fit for a new decade.

According to the runway, the fresh way to wear pastels is by pairing them with more pastels: Max Mara showcased utilitarian-style suits in head-to-toe pastel tones, Marco De Vincenzo and Loewe made a case for candied stripes in peach and dusty pink, and Prabal Gurung teamed lavender with mint.
