With the backdrop of azure waters and luxurious overwater villas, the setting was apt for a showcase of holiday-ready collections, including Saudi’s first-ever swimwear runway show courtesy of Moroccan label, EAU. Tima Abid, who has shown at Paris Couture Week, kicked off Red Sea Fashion Week with her elegant, intricate designs, followed by Yasmin Q, who introduced travel-friendly loungewear and cosy summer silhouettes; Sara Altwaim, who used traditional craftsmanship techniques throughout an ocean-inspired collection; and eco-friendly brand Niluu, which utilises ethical practices and planet-friendly materials in its breezy dresses, kaftans and co-ords. Hadia Ghaleb also showed swimwear on the runway, though modest iterations with full-body coverage, wraps and waterproof hijabs.
