London Fashion Week is renowned for its street style looks, but for the autumn/winter 2020 shows the street style set have been forced to take a different approach to their front row attire. The British city is currently feeling the wrath of Storm Dennis, with downpours and turbulent winds forcing the fashion pack to reach for their raincoats and leave their strappy heels at home.

While we’re usually sourcing the latest trends spotted on the streets of London, this season’s stormy weather has led to lesson in dressing for a rainy day. But, despite braving the elements, the mood in London has been dampened with plenty of fashion-forward looks still on show.

The transeasonal trench coat has been the biggest trend so far — in every leather, PVC and two-tone variety — especially when paired with retro animal print, over-the-knee boots, ever-so-practical wellingtons or heavy-duty military boots.

Whether you’re in the British capital, or there’s an unexpected shower in Dubai, take cues from the London set and style your classic Burberry trench with a neutral toned polo neck, a pair of weather resistance Chelsea boots and a geometric shaped bag — to add some flair to your ensemble. Or opt for an earthy hued monochrome look, worn with a wow-factor coat in bold teal or sunshine yellow.
