Chokers

Origami Clutches

Oversized Earrings

Tassels

Tech Wedge

A new-age platform wedge has been born. Designers have been stepping forward with chunky designs that feature carved arches between the sole of the shoe and the heel. Alexander McQueen’s embellished wedge is sure to be a favourite next spring.

As a tribute to the Nineties, chokers graced many a runway. Adding a dose of modern day appeal, designers such as Anne Sofie Madsen used delicate floral applique to decorate the neck, and Christian Dior opted for a minimalistic embellished style.

It’s all in the fold this season with origami-inspired bags. Steering away from the standard envelope shape and trying out more progressive designs is in this season. Whether it’s a transparent case or a hand wrapping design, there’s a style to suit all.

Small minimalistic studs are being replaced this season with oversized showstoppers. Exaggerated drop earrings take centre stage with designers like Balmain, Kenzo and Veronique Leroy all sporting them in their SS16 shows.

The swishing of free flowing tassels continued to cause a stir in the French capital. It’s fair to say their presence dominated SS16. From shoes and bags to belts, tassels adorned many a design with ease.
