From running a successful business to spending quality time with her daughter, the founder of luxury brow and lash studio Brau talks us through her stylish day
I wake up at… 6am every day. I’m a morning person — it’s my favourite part of the day because it’s the time of least distraction, and it’s when my energy is at its peak.
My morning routine normally starts with… high-intensity training; I mainly enjoy circuit training. Exercising in the early morning makes me feel good and much more productive throughout the day. By the time I’m back, I have breakfast with my daughter and then drop her to school.
I’m responsible for… everything! As a business owner I must get involved in everything from quality management, hiring, training, managing teams, marketing, constantly evolving our standard operating procedures, and building partnerships and collaboration. As we’re currently going through a growth period, I’m trying to focus most of my energy now on training and onboarding staff on our methods and our brand story, on ensuring we maintain our team spirit and team culture, and on monitoring our customer engagement to ensure we continue to live our core values as we scale.

My typical day… varies. Every day is different, and I think this could be very exciting for people who like spontaneity and very daunting for people who thrive on routine and order. The key things for me to cover on a daily basis are to review our client visit calendar for the day and get acquainted with who’s visiting us, review quality and performance, and address any issues.
My go-to working wardrobe consists of… an oversized linen blazer and a pair of jeans or slacks. It’s important that I feel comfortable during the day as I tend to move around a lot.
As for my beauty look… I focus heavily on skincare. I like experimenting with different brands, but my go-to at the moment is Drunk Elephant and Rodial. My makeup is simple yet effective — I always use concealer, brow pencil, blush and mascara.
For lunch, I eat… hearty salads. They keep me feeling full and good for the day. If I’m craving something sweet I’ll have dark chocolate, and after lunch, I always need a double espresso to keep me going for the rest of the afternoon.

What I love most about my job is… the positive impact Brau has on women and supporting them in their self-expression journey. I also love being able to work on what I’m truly passionate about and I love that there are no boundaries to creativity or growth.
And what I enjoy the least is… having to sometimes deal with small operational issues that are time consuming, such as things related to banks or third party suppliers.
When I get home I… spend time playing with my daughter — she’s four years old and loves to play with us. I know this phase won’t last too long so I’m conscious of blocking time for it daily. After that we have family dinner then we read a bedtime story and I put my daughter to sleep.
I couldn’t live without… a good blow dry and a black coffee.

When I feel stressed I… go for a walk. It helps me clear my mind and relax.
If I wasn’t in my current position, I would be… something else in the beauty world, as I’m very passionate about the industry. Otherwise I would have continued my career in management consulting! Book an appointment at Brau here
