One of the planet's most in-the-know women shares her holiday style secrets

Net-A-Porter’s global buying director, Elizabeth von der Goltz, knows all there is to know about vacation style, here she tells MOJEH what's in her suitcase this summer

MOJEH: You were recently in Greece for an exclusive Net-A-Porter event, what did you pack?

EVG: I packed two bikinis and two one pieces by Fisch and Oséree swim, linen tops and LemLem linen pants, several summer dresses by Zimmerman and Isabel Marant that can either be worn as a beach cover-up or out for dinner. Lots of bare sandals by Emme Parsons, and Alighieri pearl and gold shell jewellery.

M: What do you wear on the beach?

EVG: Beach style should be natural and effortless. It shouldn’t look like you’re trying too hard since you’re in the natural elements of the water, sun and sand. I love my Ancient Greek sandals and Carolina Santo Domingo raffia tote.

M: What is your cover-up of choice?

EVG: I love all beachwear and have a different cover-up for every day I’m on holiday. Recently I’ve bought the bright floral one by Dodo Bar Or, a gold mesh one from Caroline Constas, and a soft super natural one from Caravana. I also love LemLem and Kalita. I’m obsessed with Fisch swim which is all sustainable. I love the different styles, colours and prints they do.

M: Do you prefer a bikini or a swimsuit?

EVG: I like a simple low-cut bathing suit with a plunging neckline because it’s flattering, and I have lots of bandeau bikinis as they’re the best for avoiding any visible tan lines. I love Fisch and Oséree. I buy simple low-cut bathing suits with a plunging neckline from either Skin or Hunza G.

M: What is your go-to eveningwear on holiday?

EVG: At night, I usually wear a flowy maxi or slip dress by Lee Matthews with flat sandals, or an Isabel Marant minidress paired with pearl hoops by Meadowlark and an Anita Berisha pearl choker.

M: Do you have a strategy when you pack for a holiday?

EVG: I lay the bulkiest pieces flat at the bottom of the suitcase and then roll everything else. I try to get travel size versions of my favourite beauty products. For shampoo and conditioner (I never use what they have in hotels as it strips your hair!) I use packets of Gloss Moderne or Iles Formula – they are flat and don’t even get detected in your hand carry, which is always a major plus in my book!

M: What is in your hand luggage?

EVG: I always bring a cashmere sweater and shawl.  I don’t wear any make-up, and always put a cream face mask on once the plane takes off, and extra eye cream under my eyes.  I also use a face mist throughout the flight. My go-to beauty brands are Dr. Barbara Sturm, Augustinus Bader, Retrouve and Omorovizca.

M: Finally, do you have any tips on where to go when in Greece?

EVG: Visit the Temple of Poseidon and afterwards visit Ilias Taverna right by the sea with a view of the temple. The Amanzoe is heaven! From there you can take boat trips to Spetses and Hydra. For more of a party vibe head to Mykonos. For a romantic trip visit Santorini. To get away from it all head to Patmos - it’s hard to get to so you’ll really find peace and quiet!
