Tom Ford has succeeded Diane Von Furstenberg and will take up a top spot at CFDA's organisation...
It's official! Tom Ford can now add another milestone to his portfolio.
Overnight, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has announced the designer as its new Chairman. The rumours started circulating the news headlines earlier this week and now, we finally have confirmation.
Credited with changing the sphere of American fashion, the designer will succeed Diane Von Furstenberg, effective from June, 2019. The Belgian fashion designer held her respected position with the organisation for 13 years.
“I have had the privilege of being a member of the American Fashion community for many years and have experienced what the CFDA does for its members and the industry as a whole,” Ford said. “Having lived and worked in each of the global fashion capitals of the world, I look forward to working with the Board of Directors to further the voice of American Fashion and its designers.”
CFDA's current Chairwoman, Diane Von Furstenberg, also expressed her excitement for Ford's new role in a statement released by the CFDA. "American Fashion could not wish for a better visionary to further grow its impact in the global landscape. Tom is a role model for all of us, and we are very lucky to have him as the next Chairman of the CFDA."
Congratulations Tom Ford!
