Make a note in your diaries for March 18 – the day the Dior Haute Couture circus arrives in Dubai
Following the SS19 couture show, which was held in a giant marquee the gardens of the Musee Rodin in Paris last month, Dior’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri will bring the entire circus-themed collection to Dubai – making a momentous first for the French fashion house.
Whilst few details about this spectacular fashion showcase have been revealed, we do know that an exclusive capsule range designed specifically for the Middle East will be shown on the night – which, no doubt, will be snapped up by VIP guests on the front row the moment the pieces leave the catwalk.
The latest couture house to bring an entire runway show to the city, Dior follow in the footsteps of Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana, who made their Dubai debuts in 2014 and 2018 respectively. Never one to do things by half, Karl Lagerfeld’s Arabian adventure saw Chanel take over an entire private island off of Jumeirah Beach to show their Arabesque-inspired Resort 15 collection; while Dolce & Gabbana brought Dubai Mall to a standstill with a vast catwalk extravaganza that saw models arriving at the show courtesy of the Dubai Metro.
With whispers the giant Big Top first seen in Paris will be replicated in the yet-to-be-disclosed location, with the world’s finest circus performers flying in to add more magic to this visual masterpiece one thing is certain- lucky invitees to Dior’s inaugural Dubai visit are sure to be treated to one of the greatest shows on earth.
